Our Vision
The British Emerging Manager Institute wants to help build a new generation of asset managers, beginning with the creation and support of 30 new firms by 2030 (our “30 by 30” pledge).
We believe that the best of the next generation of alternatives managers will have diverse teams, deliver true and measurable impact and be regionally focused, and we want to help them on their journey.
A vibrant UK private markets ecosystem should comprise firms large and small, across strategies, a balance of capital between established and new groups, with regional hubs such as Manchester, Edinburgh, Birmingham and Belfast vibrant manager ecosystems. These firms will be supported by leading investors in the UK and beyond.

BEMI Emerging Manager Summit
We host an annual Emerging Manager Summit, bringing together emerging managers, independent sponsors, LPs, and industry experts for a day of practical insights, candid conversations, and meaningful connections. Designed to support the early stages of firm development, the summit features sessions led by experienced GPs and service providers covering everything from fundraising to operations. Highlights include our live podcast studio, dynamic panels, and real-world advice for building and growing investment firms.
